TV Koper-Capodistria on satellite |
01/09/06: at 1340 CET, TV Koper-Capodistria has started regular broadcasting via satellite. The channel is part of slovenian public broadcaster RTV Slovenija and it's located in Koper/Capodistria, on the Adriatic Sea and near the border with Italy. It was first launched back in 1971 with PAL colour transmissions, and its aim was to serve the italian-speaking yugoslav citizens. The channel was also very popular in Italy during the 70s and the 80s. It broadcasts mainly in italian, and it 's not just a tv channel for the italian minority, but also a regional service for local Slovene population and slovenian-speaking citizens of surrounding italian areas. Programmes between 1800 and 1900 CET are in slovenian. Both the italian (live at 1400 CET) and slovenian (rebroadcast around midnight) news bulletins produced in the town of Trieste by regional service of italian brodcaster RAI are also featured.
